Wallet Setup

To use X1NS, you need a wallet that supports the X1 blockchain. This guide will help you set up and configure your wallet.

Recommended: Backpack Wallet

Backpack is the recommended wallet for X1NS, offering the best compatibility and user experience.

Installation

1. Download the Extension

   • Visit backpack.app
   • Click “Download” and select your browser
   • Install the browser extension

2. Create or Import Wallet

   # Option A: Create New Wallet
   - Click "Create New Wallet"
   - Save your seed phrase securely (write it down!)
   - Confirm seed phrase
   - Set a password
    
   # Option B: Import Existing Wallet
   - Click "Import Wallet"
   - Enter your seed phrase
   - Set a password

3. Switch to X1 Network

   • Open Backpack extension
   • Click network dropdown (top right)
   • Select “X1” or “X1 Mainnet”

4. Fund Your Wallet

   • Get your wallet address (click to copy)
   • Send XNT tokens to this address
   • Wait for confirmation

Alternative: X1 Wallet

The native X1 wallet is under development and will offer X1-specific features.

Wallet Security Best Practices

🔒 Seed Phrase Security

Your seed phrase is the master key to your wallet. Follow these rules:

• ✅ Write it down - Use pen and paper, not digital notes
• ✅ Store securely - Use a safe or safety deposit box
• ✅ Never share - Not even with X1NS support
• ✅ Make backups - Store in multiple secure locations
• ❌ Never screenshot - Digital copies can be hacked
• ❌ Never email - Email is not secure
• ❌ Never type into websites - Only use your wallet extension

🛡️ Transaction Security

When signing transactions:

1. Always verify - Check the transaction details
2. Confirm addresses - Make sure you’re sending to the right place
3. Check amounts - Verify the XNT amount is correct
4. Review permissions - Understand what you’re approving

🚨 Phishing Protection

• ✅ Bookmark official sites - Use bookmarks, not search engines
• ✅ Check URLs - Always verify you’re on x1ns.xyz
• ✅ Enable 2FA - Where available
• ❌ Click suspicious links - In emails, Discord, Telegram
• ❌ Trust DMs - X1NS will never DM you first
• ❌ Share private keys - Never, under any circumstances

Troubleshooting

Wallet Not Connecting

Issue: Wallet button shows “Connect Wallet” but nothing happens

Solutions:

1. Make sure your wallet extension is installed and unlocked
2. Check that you’re on X1 mainnet
3. Try refreshing the page
4. Clear browser cache and cookies
5. Try a different browser

Wrong Network

Issue: Transactions fail with “Wrong network” error

Solution:

1. Open your wallet extension
2. Click the network dropdown
3. Select “X1” or “X1 Mainnet”
4. Refresh the X1NS website

Insufficient Funds

Issue: Transaction fails with “Insufficient funds”

Solution:

1. Check your XNT balance
2. Make sure you have enough for:
   • Registration fee
   • Gas fees (~0.001 XNT)
3. Add more XNT to your wallet

Transaction Stuck

Issue: Transaction pending for long time

Solution:

1. Wait 1-2 minutes (X1 is fast but not instant)
2. Check your wallet for pending transactions
3. If stuck for >5 minutes, try increasing gas price
4. Contact support if issue persists
