General

What is X1NS?

X1NS (X1 Name Service) is a decentralized naming system for the X1 blockchain. It lets you register human-readable names (like alice.x1) instead of using long blockchain addresses.

How much does a domain cost?

Live Pricing: Prices are automatically fetched from the X1NS API and update in real-time.

Do I need to renew my domain?

No! X1NS domains are permanent. You pay once and own it forever. This is different from traditional DNS or ENS domains.

Registration

How long does registration take?

Registration is typically confirmed within 1-2 seconds on the X1 blockchain.

Can I register multiple domains?

Yes! You can register as many domains as you want from a single wallet.

What characters are allowed?

  • Letters (a-z, lowercase only for ASCII)
  • Numbers (0-9)
  • Hyphens (-), but not at start or end
  • Emoji (💎, 🔥, 🚀, etc.)
  • Unicode characters (中文, 日本語, العربية, etc.)

Can I use uppercase letters?

ASCII uppercase letters are automatically converted to lowercase. Unicode characters that don’t have uppercase/lowercase are allowed as-is.

Management

Can I sell my domain?

Yes! You can:

  1. Transfer directly - Send to any wallet address for free
  2. List on marketplace - Tokenize as NFT and sell for XNT

How do I transfer a domain?

  1. Go to “My Domains”
  2. Select the domain
  3. Click “Transfer”
  4. Enter recipient’s wallet address
  5. Confirm the transaction

Can I delete a domain?

Yes! Regular domains (non-NFT) can be deleted to reclaim rent. Once deleted, the domain becomes available for registration again.

Note: NFT domains cannot be deleted yet (unwrapping feature coming in Q1 2026).

Primary Domains

What is a primary domain?

Your primary domain acts as your Web3 username. When set, it displays instead of your wallet address across the X1NS ecosystem.

How do I set a primary domain?

  1. Go to “My Domains”
  2. Click the star icon (⭐) on your chosen domain
  3. Confirm the transaction

Can NFT domains be primary domains?

Yes! Both regular and NFT domains can be set as primary.

Marketplace

How do I list my domain for sale?

  1. Tokenize your domain as an NFT (one-time, ~0.01 XNT)
  2. Click “List on Marketplace”
  3. Set your price in XNT
  4. Confirm the listing

What are the fees?

  • Tokenization: ~0.01 XNT (one-time)
  • Listing: Free
  • Sales: Network transaction fees only

Can I change the price after listing?

Yes! You can update the price or delist your domain at any time from “My Domains”.

Technical

Which wallets are supported?

  • Backpack (recommended)
  • X1 Wallet (coming soon)
  • Any X1-compatible wallet

What blockchain is X1NS on?

X1NS is built on the X1 blockchain, which is compatible with Solana.

Are domains case-sensitive?

No. All domains are lowercase. Alice.x1 and alice.x1 are the same domain.

Can I use my domain on other chains?

You can set multi-chain addresses in your profile records (X1, SOL, ETH, BTC), allowing your domain to resolve to different addresses on different chains.

Subdomains

What are subdomains?

Subdomains are names created under your parent domain. For example, if you own alice.x1, you can create pay.alice.x1, nft.alice.x1, etc.

How many subdomains can I create?

Unlimited! There’s no cap on the number of subdomains you can create.

Do subdomains cost money?

Subdomains have a small creation fee for network rent (~0.002 XNT).

Can I sell subdomains?

Currently, subdomains cannot be tokenized or sold separately. This feature may be added in the future.

Is there a bug bounty program?

Not currently, but we welcome security researchers to report vulnerabilities to admin@x1ns.xyz.
